We Love Mat!!

I feel like this might be an understatement...
because honestly I listen to at least 3 of his songs if not full multiple albums, multiple times per day and he is on every playlist I make. Hayden even seems to like his songs.
I've even posted about him before, probably just as much as my husband. Sorry, Hubs!

This past Wednesday some of my lovely ladies and I went out for my first baby free girls night!

Sidenote: I love going to the city (San Francisco, for those of you that don't know which city I am referring to).. I reallllly don't do it enough, considering I live less than 30 minutes away.

Our plan was to hit up the Panera in Millbrae before the concert. Panera is always a special treat cause its slightly expensive for lunch/the size of the meal.

I almost always get the You Pick 2 - with Apple Chicken Salad & Tomato Mozzarella Sandwich but I was daring and tried the Thai Chopped Chicken Salad plus my T&M Sandwich. I always wish there was the option for a full sandwich and a half salad but there is not. Darn you, Panera Bread!

I would eat the Thai Chopped Chicken Salad again but probably not often...
It was a little florally tasting and too much barely cooked sweet potato chunks.

...

After Panera, we headed straight to the city to the secret parking garage - which unfortunately is not so  secret anymore.
However, we got to the Warfield early enough to secure front row spots.

After suffering a little bit through the opening act and some impatient waiting while they reset the stage, we finally got to see Our Mat. He really puts on a fabulous show and even more awesome now with his newest cd - Young Love. Kim and I have seen him twice now and thoroughly enjoyed both shows. It's a very clean, family friendly and fun time to be had.

Hayden - 7 months

Little lady love is 7 months old! So many new things this month and so much to do...

Since Hayden became a rolling queen last month... She now naps on her tummy

Still chubby!

I sit up all by myself

and crawl!!!

I fear that she will eat everything now - she already has an affinity to eat the fuzz off the carpet...

What next?

fill in the blank friday

1. The love of my life is Jesus first and Patrick 2nd .

2. Falling in love is a whirlwind, you eventually get sucked in :)  .

3. Marriage is hard work but so fruitful and loving when you put in the work required .

4. The longest relationship I've ever had was We are just a couple months away from 5 years  .

5. The key to a good relationship is honesty and sacrifice/ putting the other person first .

6. I feel loved when Patrick does something simple for me like taking out the garbage or doing the dishes - which he did for love day :)   .

7. My favorite quote about love is I have 2 - "whatever ours souls are made of his and mine are the same" -emily bronte (wuthering heights) and "Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction" antoine de saint-exupery (le petit prince) .

fill in the blank friday

1.  I started my blog because   I wanted a place to write in the way I like to write and to keep track of the things that don't fit in the scrapbook.

2.   One thing I love seeing on other blogs   I love pictures and reviews .

3.  Something I love about blogging   the memory keeping and some of the community aspect

4. A favorite blog post of mine is probably  I don't really have a favorite but do enjoy my prego posts.

5. Something my friends in real life know about me that I've never before mentioned on my blog is   that I am really sassy/blunt/sarcastic at times and really have to watch what I say sometimes so that I don't sound mean. I'm just opinionated and have my mind made up already too often. also I am kinda picky but not picky... about food - I don't eat mayo, eggs, ham, sour cream and other assorted items. another interesting thing is that we don't watch or read the news (I watch nightline but that is just highlights of random stories).

6.  My new favorite blogs to read are  100 days of real food, milk friendly, lululemon addict and modern alternative mama  .

7.  Some things I tend to avoid doing on my blog are   negative writing, posting music .

fill in the blank friday

1.   If money wasn't an issue, the first thing I'd cross of my life list is     own a mazda 5 or move to paris - I'm slightly obsessed with that darn car    .

2.    musicals     are something I like that other people think is weird.

3.  If my life were a movie right now, the title would be     Baby Day's... I'm not that creative       .

4.  Three things I am looking forward to this month are     the Super bowl    ,     Valentines day (which I prefer to call love day)  and     starting Women's Bible study group   .

5.  My favorite song to sing in the shower is   All Creatures of Our God and King - I always sing this to Hayden as her lullaby, so its often in my head (Bethany Dillon/Shawn McDonald version not David Crowder version... I do not like David Crowder) :)  .

6.  If I found out that the production of     Reese's pb cups    was ending this month, I'd go out and buy as much as I could tomorrow.

7.  One thing I'll never grow tired of is    reading  .

Garlic Knots

My Garlic Knots - coming soon to a Northern California Super Bowl party :)

I've seen a few different recipes in the past for garlic knots...
but I didn't bother doing the logical thing by trying to find the ones I may or may not have pinned.

Here is a picture of some I pinned to be on the up and up. However I'm crazy and created my own recipe.

You'll Thank Me Later - Garlic Knots

I made my dough in a bread maker but you can do it by hand too. This recipe makes approximately 3 dozen medium sized knots.

Prep time: 2 1/2 - 3 hrs (depends on rise time of dough)  Bake time: 15-20 min

Dough:
  • 1 1/2 cups of water
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • 4 cups of flour (I used white all purpose)
  • 1/2 tablespoon of rosemary
  • 1/2 tablespoon of basil
  • 4 teaspoons of fast rise or bread machine yeast
Topping:
  • 3 tablespoons of butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced or grated
  • 1/2 tablespoon of parsley(I used dried)
  • salt, your preference to taste
Directions:
  1. Measure all dough ingredients and place in bread pan, in the order listed. Select dough setting and start machine. I believe my dough setting has 2 rises not all bread machines are made this way - you want 2 rises for extra puffy dough.
  2. Once the last rise is almost done - mince spices and melt butter.
  3. Combine and stir all topping ingredients together in a small bowl.
  4. Once dough is done - lightly flour a surface large enough to roll out your dough to cut. I rolled out my dough to be about 1/4 inch thickness and cut it in 1 inch strips, vertically and then each strip into thirds. They ended up being approximately 7 inches in length before tying.
  5. Cover cookie dough sheet or jelly roll pan with parchment paper. Then fold over the knots and tie them. Place knots about an inch apart, I fit a dozen on a 9x13 pan.
  6. Then brush or pour some of topping mixture on knots, saving at least half for the finish. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden on top and bottom. (I rotated mid-way through to get them evenly browned)
  7. Pour remaining topping mixture over the knots. Plate & devour!
Warning: These are highly addictive!!

This is a man approved recipe. Hubs says, "These taste like rolls from a fancy restaurant. Good job, Babe"

Now you Pintertest it!

February 2012

and because one isn't enough!

I love February and I love Valentine's day! With all its commercial holiday hype I still love it.
Who doesn't love -- love??
I have some fun things up my sleeve for love day itself for my love and little love
and a couple projects coming for you :)
