Lulu Loves - Polka Dot

New High Noon Dot pattern! If you don't like polka dots at all, it might be hard for us to be friends. Just sayin'. This is a new luon light power y tank in lilac and black, can't wait to see more colored polka dots though.

Diversity Wunder Under Crop - I am love/hating these... Basically they have stitched a couple different spots so you can cut/choose where you want the length to be. Thus why there is a raw hem at the bottom and if you didn't know already, Lululemon will hem your pants for you for free. Plus side: great for shortys like me and the colors these come in are all cute but not sure I could get away with polka dot butt.

Super cute bag but super cheesy name: Sackasana Bag

and special for my friend Kim
Lululemon's specialized cycling gear :)

Birthday Weekend Recap

Friday
My actual birthday was spent lounging around and being waited on by my super sweet husband, Patrick. Who also endured many movies of my choice, some I'm sure he would rather not.

but the main one - that we both wanted to see, was Chronicle.
Kinda like Heroes a.k.a. our favorite show, but more anti-hero and dangerous.
We also watched I Love You, Man! Which neither of us had seen before but I loved and Patrick was mildly amused with, he loves old school style comedy while I prefer new.

Plus a little bit of those two. New strawberry cake & creme donuts @ Krispy Kreme and a bi-weekly staple around here, Chipotle. Nom & Nom.

Saturday
Had a perfect morning getting stuff done while Hayden slept in because shes teething..
Followed up by a perfect Giants game! Ellen, Kim, Hayden and I got to go to the A's vs. Giants game, which was the Strike out Cancer/ Fedora giveaway game. Can someone figure out that connection for us?! Also it happened to be Hayden's first game post-in womb and lucky her we had primo club level seats in the shade.

Fyi: Hayden is obviously the most authentic fan... Since she can already hold her sign so well! She was greatly offended by the man that kept placing his sign in front of her during her television debut. But being a true fan this did not thwart her from enjoying the game.

Documented here. Clapping hands and dancing was involved. Some garlic fries, sweet potato fries, corn and regular dogs were consumed, its the shared CuppaKim/Emj rule of baseball. Go Giants!

-

After the game Hayden enjoyed a nap while I journeyed to Target.
Where I found a new little friend and some half off shorts for our impending trip to Palm Springs.
The middle cream one to be exact :)

-
The next part of the day was spent out with girlfriends to watch...

I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, haha little pun, but was surprised to actually like it Jennifer Lopez and all... lol. Honestly the best are some of the dad parts and Cameron Diaz might actually be making a come back but no surprise Elizabeth Banks was the shining star. Bonus: Chace Crawford, had no clue he was in this but yay.

All in all definitely my best birthday yet! The best part no food tracking on birthday weekends but I definitely way over did that. Thanks for making a fabulous 25th birthday for me Hubs and Girlfriends!!

Lulu Loves - Porcelaine

This week there is a lot of cute new yoga/casual wear and most come in the new porcelaine blue color.

The Meditate Pullover - which previously came in black and white, now comes in dune and fossil gray. I personally am in love with both the new colors and wouldn't know how to choose. More things in dune please, especially bottoms!

I love the new Bliss Tank! Its really pretty and if it weren't made out of technical fabrics it would be cute as everyday wear as well. It also comes in black and white/beachy floral white fossil.

Free Fall Crops in Porcelaine
Now normally I am a little grossed out by any pants with a dropped crotch but on these pants and especially in the porcelaine blue it actually doesn't look bad and also considering it is only a slight drop compared to other styles Lululemon carries. Something about the color just makes them look so good and the concord grape color isn't bad either.

The most simple but one of the most exciting is this new color of Groove Pants. Heathered fossil/ heathered blush quartz/ wee stripe white blush quartz with a black waist band on the reverse side. Please more and more colors of Groove pants because black pants are boring even if they have a cute waist band because you likely won't be able to see it because it will be covered with a tank top...

What I'm Reading: Run Like a Mother

Run Like a Mother by Dimity McDowell & Sarah Bowen Shea

Inspired by my new love for running and thirst to learn more about it and how to be better at it... I searched for the perfect beginning running book for women and found something even better - one written for moms by moms.

Broken up into 26 easy to read chapters each with a .2 section after it. 26.2 a.k.a. the distance of a marathon. The chapters vary from helping you find the right gear, to running while pregnant, to getting the hubs on board with your new running regime and then to the funny, how/when to go to the bathroom during a race. Basically all the need to know things about running that you wanted to know about but were too afraid to ask plus more like the fun music playlist ideas.

Run Like a Mother is a great mix of funny, heartwarming and encouraging stories and lots of applicable advice. I loved this book and highly recommend it to the beginner mommy runner! It would even make a great Mother's Day gift. Maybe paired with chocolate and some cute running shoes of course ;)

Lulu Loves - Run & Sun

Some new faves this week from Lululemon

I really love the detailing on this shirt but would love to see it in some different colors.

The new Run From Work Backpack has soooo many features! Hydration pack pocket, tech pocket for your iPad or other tablet plus magnetic and zip pockets. A good bag to crossover from work to working out.

Best new item is definitely the Zippy Run Tank. I love the lines of this tank top plus the bonus of the large back pockets and a nice adjustability with the zipper.

mothers day gifts 2012

Mother's Day is about a week away and of course Moms aren't the easiest to shop for... So here are some cute and easy gifts that are sure to please. mothers day gifts 2012

mothers day gifts 2012 by emmers87

1. Noon Glow Loop $38 - anthropologie.com

Circle/Loop/Wrap/Infinity or whatever you want to call them make great gifts because they come in so many styles and are a versatile accessory for moms of any age.

2. FOSSIL zip bag $98 - fossil.com

Now that I'm a mom, I have been lusting after these cross-body bags from Fossil. What makes it a good gift for moms: it is small enough to wear while baby-wearing and a much cuter option than your bulky diaper bag for date night.

3. Stella dot jewelry $16-$36 - stelladot.com

My personal fave is Stella & Dot charm jewelry- get monograms, birthstones, or a mom or grandma charm or a mix of all and you can't go wrong.

4. Kindle Fire $199 - amazon.com

Oh Kindle... you are the most fabulous invention for moms since... well maybe the dishwasher.
My Kindle keyboard is seriously jealous of the Kindle Fire and oh so tempting with its new pretty colors and video. Also great if mom already has a Kindle - get her Kindle gift cards.

Lulu Loves - Swim/Surf

It's Tuesday! and May, my 2nd favorite month and otherwise known as my birthday month!! but lets get back to the task at hand... New Lulu product!

The biggest things this week are the new Swim/Surf line and lots more Beachy Floral print!

The Surf 'N' Turf Tote - Made for the beach but versatile enough to be used as a day bag, gym bag or diaper bag. Comes with inner removable liner that doubles as a second bag. Comes in 3 different Beachy Floral print colors but I'm boring and like the Fossil gray.

Flip Out Boardshort - Since modest is hottest, these swim shorts fit my needs of covering up but keeping cute while swimming. They are reversible plus have a key cord and pocket, very handy. The coolest part though is that the waist band isn't like most board shorts, instead of being stiff with velcro it is made out of regular swim suit material and is a foldover waist so you can customize your comfort a little more.

New color-way (retail speak for combo of colors) of Menthol/Fossil in the Groove Crop. I have a thing for gray in any form, like how people buy everything in black... I do that with gray but this is cute because it has the addition of the Menthol color and reverse side of the waistband is Black.

This new Beachy Floral Bang Buster Headband is already sold out on the US side of the Lululemon side of their website. I have this headband in all white and have to admit I don't love it as much as I thought I would, only because I feel with my paleness I get washed out even more - Should have bought all black instead but I do love the style and will probably get this color and possibly sell or give my white one to someone.

360 Rashguard - Once again coverage is key and you can't get more covered than a rashguard. Paired with the Heatwave Swim Bottoms you can't go wrong.
